VeKO news for the beginning of 2021

In 2021, we continue promoting the matching between companies’ needs and the diverse expertise of international talents in North Savo. At the beginning of the year, we arranged for companies and international experts to meet each other securely online. In addition, we develop customized services for companies at different stages of the recruitment process and strengthen the job search skills and networking of international experts. Our cooperation with the Talent Hub network and various stakeholders continues closely.

VeKO Virtual Networking Event 4.2.2021

At a virtual event held at the beginning of February, project manager Nuppu Suvanto, International Tampere, spoke about the services offered in the Tampere area to companies and international experts. North Savo’s local Talent Hub operations were opened by project manager Jarkko Surakka, North Savo Talent Hub project, Savonia University of Applied Sciences.
The companies that took part in the event, such as Genelec, FinVector, presented their activities and a couple of dozen active talents took advantage of this opportunity to introduce themselves. They shared their own expertise inside the arranged virtual rooms for each company and some of the bravest took the chance to have their elevator pitch as part of the main program.

Both companies and talent saw the event as a good opportunity to get to know each other and hear more about Talent Hub players in the area. The talents hoped for more recruiting companies for the next networking event, coming up on 11th of May. Whether company or talent, if you wish so, you can already contact Marco and tell about your interest and ideas.

VeKO Talent Pool, guidance and matchmaking

We have started gathering a talent pool of highly educated international experts and specialists who already live in North Savo or are interested in moving here. The purpose of our talent pool is to increase the efficiency of the employment of international experts in companies in our region. Persons belonging in the talent pool can also receive job search guidance. In addition, talent's potentially hidden know-how can be mapped with the new SkillLab tool, which Spring House Oy has introduced. For more information on recruitment, job search and the SkillLab tool, please contact Mirka.

Services for settlement, integration and orientation

We also offer free services and training for professionals starting their work, families included, to adapt as easily as possible to their new home region and workplace. VeKO project offers companies that recruit international experts to build a service and training package that can be tailored to their own needs. Indeed, a few companies in various sectors have already seized this free opportunity. Interested companies can get more information from Tanja.

Wishing you a happy spring,
Mirka Niskala and the VeKO team
